Eating good food, changing old habits for new ones, and healing create beneficial cell turn-over and removal of lesser and/or toxic substances. So, sometimes when we get the chance, or make the time in the evening - a detox bath helps out - even just soaking the feet is very beneficial. Anything to take the trash out :)
Basic directions for detox bath
- Very warm to Hot water (hot as you can stand it is better (?))
opens pores, increases circulation, and helps the body to sweat better if needed for that detoxing. - Baking soda (2 Tbl - 1/2 C in each bath)
to neutralize chlorine - then Add one of the types below as desired
examples: epsom salt, seaweed, bentonite clay, baking soda, sea salt, ginger & epsom salt, or Bragg's ACV - (herbal teas ?) - Stay in the bath for 15-30 minutes to detox
Stay unless intensity requires a break or stopping - Be careful of dizziness when getting up - Rinse off. Rest. - choose a type of bath each week or as often as you wish:
Can put powders in a fabric bag or sock and soak it in hot water, then out hot water and sock into the path. - Extra benefit if also brush skin w/ brush, cloth or sock w/seaweed
Do not use lotions or products on your skin afterwards - coconut oil is great though
- Epsom Salt = minerals. Also aches, pain, cramping, calming
1/4 - 2 C Epsom salt - Seaweed = minerals including "iodine" bath
1/8 - 1/4 C in fabric bag or sock - Bentonite clay = ALL types of detox + minerals + healing
